I had a coworker give me a tarot card reading today. The central theme was stagnation, am almost complete reculisivity; I was not surprisedl
I think i'ma jump on FFXI.
I just watched Loose Change (http://loosechange911.com). Well, actually, for a second time today. I'm impressed at the filmmaker and disgusted at the content, though not surprised. In summation, it insinuates (and somewhat proves) that the events of September 11th, 2001 were orchestrated by our government. If you haven't seen it yet, you need to.
Otherwise, i'm exhausted. Two days in a row of waking up at 4:30 a.m. to be at work at 5:00 a.m. Today sucked ass due to a stomach ache that lasted until halfway through my shift. I couldn't slow down to let it settle, either, the rush started at 7:00 a.m. and didn't stop until I left at 10:30 a.m. But I still love the job, it's just tiring. Luckily, I know my shit, so the only stress is attributed to the customer volume, not the tasks I perform.
I've got a lot going on inside my head right now. Too much to fit neatly onto a blog page. Wheels are turning, though.
How many places have you lived in your life?
Let's see. I was born in Las Vegas, and lived there until 3rd grade. Keep in mind my parents have always worked for casino's. My father got a job opportunity around that time and moved us out to Bossier City, Louisiana when Harrah's opened a property in Shreveport. I stayed in Bossier until my senior year in high school, and then moved to Slidell with my parents. Conflict inevitably ensued, and I was kicked out for a second time. I came back to Bossier and stayed various places, got my act together, and moved back to Slidell about 4 months later. My parents, still a few crayons short of a box, kicked me out for a 3rd time. That would be the final time, with the excuse, "We need time for us." I moved in with a woman I babysat for, Nola Newcomer, and lived there for a solid 8 months without problems. Then, one month before hurricane Katrina hit, I was given a great opportunity to move in with some friends in Gulfport and start at a job telemarketing for Oreck. The job was amazing, the apartment was wonderful, so of course it had to end. My journey was not yet finished! Katrina hit and I was swung back up to Bossier and have lived here with my boyfriend Chris for one solid year. It's been a financial roller-coaster, but since I started working at Starbucks, everything's truly falling into place. Hopefully, there won't be any addendums to this post. I really doubt it, though, since my role in life is finally within my control.
Well, Hello! I'm Blake. Thanks goes to Jaz for helping me out with a Vox. Seems pretty cool, I like the concept. I got tired of LJ a while back, so this seems like a suitable alternative.
Not doing too much at the moment, just listening to some Ani and being bored. Got a day off today after a grueling work week. Not that I don't enjoy my job, I do. It's just tiring. 38.75 hour work week, and next week is 39.5 ^^;; I'd work overtime if it were allowed, but it's not. Our district doesn't pull in enough revenue to support employees going into overtime, so you actually get written up if it happens. But that should change when I become a shift supervisor, which i've heard tell is already in the works. I was telling Chris earlier that i'm sure they want me to prove myself during the very busy Christmas season, but afterwards I see it as a real possibility. Starbucks has some great opportunities for advancement, one of the many reasons I love the company. So, when I become a shift, i'll be working a minimum of 32 hours a week and get a set-starting rate of $8.50/hr. In Louisiana, that's a lot, heh.
Well, i'm gonna explore Vox a bit more.

on 3,000 some poems disguised as people.
